Ben Rosenblum’s fourth album as a leader sees the return of his sextet following the success of their 2020 release, Kites and Strings. Featuring an ambitious set of jazz and world music inspired original composition and arrangements, A Thousand Pebbles sees the evolution of Rosenblum as a composer, pianist and accordionist, with sweeping programmatic works surrounding the titular three movement suite. In May 2023, DownBeat Magazine featured the album in an interview about Rosenblum for The Beat entitled “Worldly Jazz Adventuring.”
